Dempster Auto Rebuilders, Inc. is very active in the community. This is a representative list of our connections in the Evanston community.

Evanston Youth Baseball Association
We have been a team sponsor for little league baseball for the past 28 years.

Rotary Club of Evanston – Member and Past President
The Rotary Club of Evanston is a service organization, whose members are business professionals from the Evanston area. Our motto ‘Service above Self ” defines our activities and gives us direction. We provide education scholarships, financial aid to other organizations that provide a needed value or service to our community through our Rotary Foundation. As part of Rotary International we support international efforts to improve quality of life for millions of people around the world.

Evanston Chamber of Commerce – Member – Past President
We have always been members of the Chamber of Commerce. We have served on the Chamber Board of Directors and served as Treasurer and President of the Chamber of Commerce twice.

Minority/Women/Evanston Business Enterprise Development Committee
This committee reports to the Appropriations & Public Works Committee of the City Council. The mission of the committee is to help develop programs to improve the use of Minority/Women/Evanston Business in City purchases and on projects built on City property. To work within the Redevelopment Agreement to ensure compliance with Evanston M/W/EBE guidelines. We are also working to develop job-training initiatives with the developers on City projects.

Evanston Environmental Association – Past-President
The Evanston Environmental Association works with the Evanston Ecology Center to provide environmental education to children and adults on the Northshore. We do our major fundraising through; the Green Ball, Wild & Scenic Film Festival, and the Green Living Festival.

Evanston 4th of July Association –  Trustee
The association has been putting on the 4th of July Celebration in Evanston for over 95 years with the help of volunteers and donations from the public, no tax dollars are used to put on the parade or fireworks display. We have been ranked in the top five 4th of July celebrations in the country for the past decade.

Minority/Women/Evanston Business Enterprise Development Committee – Past Chairperson

D65 Strategic Planning Advisory Committee
District 65 began a process to develop a 5-year strategic plan for the District. As part of this initiative an Advisory Committee was formed of business leaders, citizens, educators and District staff to create the process and provide the necessary information for the Board of Education. We were very pleased to be a part of this effort for the past year, and hope that this will be an on-going group to continue the review of this plan.

WE Foundation – Advisory Board                                                                       Working with Hecky Powell to find a way to help and encourage young people to consider careers in the non-college degree jobs, the WE Foundation provides guidance, mentorships, internships, and scholarships.
